Minister Mary Cosby
Minister Mary A. Cosby, a native of Camden, South Carolina is an Associate Minister of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Minister Cosby accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at a Revival in 1968 at the age of twelve. As a teenager she was very active in the church. She served as Sunday School Secretary, Sunday School teacher for Preschool and Youth Usher. Min. Cosby was also called upon to speak at various churches.
At the age of eighteen, Min. Cosby joined the United States Army, where she served for twenty years. While serving in the military, she attended various churches throughout the United States, Korea and Europe.
On her return from Berlin, Germany in November 1991, The Lord told her, “That it was time.” Knowing God, she decided to settle down at St. James Missionary Baptist Church after visiting several churches in the Lawton-Fort Sill Community.
Minister Cosby is a faithful, dedicated and committed woman of God. She serves as the Director of Christian Education, Youth Director, Vacation Bible School Director, Deaconess Director, Young Adults Advisor, WMU Director, Adult Sunday School Teacher, and she mentors young girls at Marie Detty. Minister Cosby was licensed to preach on March 14, 2004. Her passion is for women and youth. Her desire is to see women fulfilling the call of God in their lives and to be empowered for service.
Minister Cosby is married to Deacon Charles L. Cosby, Sr. They are members of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma. They are the parents of three children and one grand son. Mary serves faithfully beside her husband as a Deaconess and Minister.
Minister Cosby stands on the word of God and knows that she can do all things through Christ who strengthen her. She has been called, appointed, anointed and ordained by God to preach the Gospel.
One of her favorite Scriptures is Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
